I bought an older Gateway with WinME OS as a backup. Well after a while it started freezing up quite often where all I could do was power down and restart. Well I thought I would restore to an earlier point. In the middle of restore, it froze and after trying averthing I knew i powered down. As you can imagine now it is in limbo and don't know what it is. I get the message no OS found. Now for my question: What do I need to do? I don't have any disks with it. I have access to Win98SE upgrade. Would I be better off trying to find a full version of 98 and install then upgrade to SE, or try to find a full version of ME? I am real dumb about what to do with computers. I need advise and step by step instructions. The hard drive probably isn't worth taking to the shop, but it is to me. Thank you for any help anyone can give me.
