great that you're out there on the web, but the downloads for the Win XP Pro boot disks was a complete bust: they just don't work!

I have a bootable WinXPPro Cd, with a secondary CD of SP2. However, XPPRO will not install on my new Pentium4 machine. I am told I need XPPRO.SP2 (all integrated into one install copy). Is this available from this site? Can you please respond directly to my email addy?

i made the mistake of switching to ubuntu after becoming bored with xp pro =] then i found out that ubuntu cant run exe files! ahhh!!! and Dell didnt include a bootdisk with my laptop...im not sure how to make these .img files into 1 ISO. can someone please help me?

i loaded to floppy disk but when i loaded to computer it said i needed the original windows xp cd..total bust!

I installed my xp pro on a volume on my mac and save the iso on the mac. Unfortunately I clean installed leopard os x without burning a backup of xp pro, and I can't find the original anywhere! The Macbook doesn't have a floppy drive, and I'm useless when it comes to usb anything aside from ipods. . .

What is this thread about?

To create a bootable XP cd:
1. Copy the contents of your Windows XP Setupdisk to your PC's harddrive, be sure you copy ALL the files. (for example, we'll copy them to c:\winxpboot\ )
2. Then copy the file: smartdrv.exe to this same folder (c:\winxpboot) (smartdrv.exe can be found with the windows 98 or on the web)
3. Open neroburn.
4. In the wizard or startsmart, go to Create Bootable Disc.
5. Put in the windows 98 boot disk floppy
6. Nero will ask for either the boot image locatoin or to use the Floppy, use the floppy. Then Click NEW.
7. Now go to the C:\winxpboot folder and copy all of the files on the CD project. and then Burn the disk, be sure to finalize the disk too!

Once it finishes, you will have a bootable windows xp disk. When it boots, it will boot up like when you put in the windows 98 floppy disk. Very helpful for installing OS when you don't have a floppy or want to bother with the floppy.
